Manufactured Housing

Unoccupied mobile homes in Seacroft advice, Leeds, United Kingdom

The term 'prefabricated' may refer to buildings built in components (panels, for example) modules (manufactured homes) or transportable sections (manufactured homes), and can also be used to refer to mobile homes. Although similar in nature, methods and design of the three can vary greatly. There are plans for two-level homes and custom home plans. There are also big differnce in the types of construction. Mobile and manufactured homes are built in accordance with HUD building codes in the U.S. while modular homes are built in accordance with the IBC (International Building Code).

- Modular homes are homes that are created in sections, then transported to the home site for construction and installation. These are installed and treated like a normal house, for purposes of funding, evaluation and construction, and often the most expensive of the three. Although sections of the house are prefabricated, the sections or modules are put together to build like a typical home. Manufactured and mobile homes are classified as personal property and depreciated over time.

- Manufactured homes refer to homes that are built on steel beams and transported in complete sections on the homepage, where they are assembled.

- Mobile homes are, simply, mobile homes, that is, homes built on wheels, which are capable of moving from one place to another.

Mobile homes and manufactured homes can be placed in mobile home parks and manufactured homes can also be placed on private land, provided that the land is appropriate zoning for manufactured homes.

Manufactured homes

Main article: manufactured homes

The construction of prefabricated houses typically involves connecting plumbing and electrical lines through sections, and sealing the sections together. Manufactured homes can be one, two, or even triple-wide, which is simply a measure of how many sections wide it is. Many manufactured home companies manufacture a variety of designs different, and many of the plans are available online. Manufactured homes can be built on a permanent foundation, and if designed properly, can be difficult to distinguish from a stick-built house to the untrained eye. [Citation needed]

Manufactured homes are often purchased at a company retailing that can be independently owned and operated, initially assembled by a local contracting company, and monitoring of repairs performed by the home company manufactures warranty. For this reason, customer service and reputation are very important. Buying a manufactured home company disreputable or dishonest could lead to delays in the movement as well as large residual and unexpected. For this reason, it is advisable to seek a second views or opinions of consumers first hand a brand of manufactured homes.

A manufactured home, once assembled, goes through an "adjustment" period, where the home will sit on your location. During this period, some drywall cracking may appear, and any equipment installed improperly, the wiring and / or plumbing must be repaired, hopefully under warranty. If not covered by the warranty, the costs will be borne by the consumer. For this reason, it is important for consumers to ensure that a reliable and honest contractor is used for initial configuration. If repairs are not completed with initial configuration of the crew, the manufacturer will send repair crews to repair anything covered by the warranty. Minor repair equipment must be programmed, and may not be available immediately for most repairs. The fact that a manufactured home is mounted not mean it is immediately habitable, adequate ventilation, heating, plumbing and electrical systems must be correctly installed for the initial configuration of the crew, otherwise the consumer must wait until the repair kit manufacturer can make an appointment, unless the consumer agrees to compensation for personal account.

Construction work

Mobile homes and manufactured homes can be placed in mobile home parks, manufactured homes and also can be placed on private land, provided that the land is zoned for manufactured housing appropriate. Many cities have not updated zoning regulations for modern manufactured homes, and therefore can not allow manufactured homes to be placed in certain areas.

McDonald's use prefabricated structures for their buildings, and recently set a record for construction of a building and the opening of business within 13 hours (in the works land already prepared).

The history of prefab building

Houses have been built in one place and re-erected elsewhere along history. Possibly the first prefab portable endowment was announced Cottage. A carpenter in London, H. Manning, built a house that was built in components, then shipped and assembled by British emigrants. This article was published at the time (advertising, South Australia Record, 1837) and a few still standing in Australia. Another interesting building is prefabricated hospitals that the British Army deployed in 1855 during the Crimean War, designed by Isambard Kingdom Brunel, with innovations in sanitation, ventilation and toilet.

The first precast block precast panels apartment were for the first time in Liverpool, England in 1905. The process was invented by the city engineer John Alexander Brodie, whose inventive genius also had invented the network of the football goal. The tram sheds in Liverpool Walton followed in 1906. The idea was not widely accepted in Britain, however, was adopted worldwide, particularly in Eastern Europe.

manufactured homes were produced during the gold rush in the United States when produced kits for California hunters quickly and efficiently build a habitable zone. Homes were available in kit form by mail in the United States 1908.

manufactured housing became increasingly popular during the Second World War because of the need for mass housing for military personnel. U.S. Quonset huts used as military buildings, and the United Kingdom had a large number of prefabricated buildings used as shelters Nissen and Bellman Hangars. 'Prefabricated' were built after the war as a means of quickly and cheaply supply of quality housing as a replacement to the housing stock destroyed during the war. The proliferation of manufactured housing throughout the country was the result of the Burt Committee and Housing (Housing temporal), 1944. entire prefabricated housing estates were built to house the homeless by the war and the demolition of slums in progress. Nearly 160,000 had been built in the UK in 1948 at a cost of about 216 million.

Precast were aimed at families, and usually had an entrance hall, two bedrooms (parents and children) a bathroom (a room with bath), which was an innovation of the novel for many Britons at the time, a toilet, a living room and one full (empty in the modern sense) the kitchen. Construction materials include steel, aluminum, wood or asbestos, according to the type of housing. Prefabricated aluminum type B2 occurred in four pre-assembled sections that could be transported by truck anywhere in the country.

The Universal House (left and right living room) was given to the Chiltern Open Air Museum after 40 years of temporary use. The Mark 3 was manufactured by the Universal Declaration of Housing Company Ltd, Rickmansworth.

The United States also used prefabricated housing, both to house troops during the war, and GIs returning home later. classrooms Prefabricated were also popular in UK schools by increasing their conference during the baby boom years of 1950 and 1960.

Many of the buildings were designed with a period of 50-10 years, but far exceeded this, with a number of survivors today. In 2002, for example, the city of Bristol still had residents living in 700 examples. Many UK councils have begun to demolish the last surviving examples of the Second Prefabricated War II in order to meet the decent standard of the British Government House, which comes into force in 2010. However, there has been a recent resurgence of the methods prefabricated building in order to compensate for the current shortage of housing in the UK.

Prefabricated modernist movement

More and more architects are incorporating modern designs in today's manufactured homes. manufactured home should no longer be compared to a mobile home in terms of appearance, but a complex of modernist design. It has also been an increase in the use of "green" materials in the construction of these prefab houses. Consumers can choose from different finishes and systems environment of the wall. Because these houses are built in some parties, it is easy for a homeowner to add additional rooms or even solar panels for roofs. Many manufactured homes can be customized for clients specific location and climate, making manufactured homes more flexible and modern than before.

There is a new spirit of the time in architecture circles and the zeitgeist favors small carbon footprint "prefabricated." Prominent among the new generation product of modern luxury platform is the perrinepod, which has found favor around the world for their green credentials and three days of construction time.
